newB question on gauges

Using this year's refund to install gauges. Pyro & AT temp for sure. Boost or fuel pressure ( on a 12V) for the third? Will be towing a small (18') BP trailer. Everyone has their preferences, but any particular reason to recommend one brand over another?

I've been reading here for some time and have learned lots already - Thanks to all who take the time to post and share your knowledge.

I'd get a boost gauge, instead of fuel pressure. On a 12-valve, fuel pressure is not that critical to monitor (unlike a 24-valve). I have Isspro gauges, but I think Isspro and Autometer are the two favorite gauge types. Diesel Manor has a very complete kit:

I love my boost gauge and I love my fuel pressure gauge. But between the two I'd say boost. If I were you, I'd get that fuel pressure as well and mount it somewhere else. You'll know when your fuel filter is dirty and whether your overflow valve is working, or if there's anything else wrong. Would help out your fuel economy to know those things as well.

I just put a new set of Isspro fuel, boost, and pyro on my truck yesterday and they are great. I chose the white with the blue back light. I was also impressed the fact that all the parts to do the job were there and if you have any questions you can call Isspro and they are happy to answer any ? you ask .

Isspro make some very nice guages (make sure you get the EV [enhanced vision] series)...

BUT there are two others that you should consider:

DiPricol Optix - http://www.dieselmanor.com/dipricol/optix_gauges.asp

and Stewart Warner Performance - http://www.sw-performance.com/products/CTG

The diPricols Optix come from the factory with LED lighting, and you can get it as options on both the Isspro and the Stewart Warners. Make SURE you get the LED lighting.

As for ranges, Pyro 0-1500, boost 0-60 psi, Fuel Pressure (while not necessary on a 12V - it is a good troubleshooting tool) 0-60 psi.

** Im not necessarily endorsing dieselmanor - just referring to them because they have very good pics **
