Well folks while I was getting my truck repaired from recent theft damage I asked my dealer if I could take out a HEMI. Trying to persuade the wife into getting one possibly. Now we just took it for a little test drive but what a difference. The biggest difference was going up hill. My wife who was driving said &quot;Tom this is not your Cummins&quot;. It was a 1500 but we were not pulling anything or drag racing and I know the differences of diesel vs. a gasser. Again this is what I could tell from a simple test drive. Don't get me wrong the HEMI is a great engine,sounds nice,and has a nice pick up but it is not my diesel. I have not been in a gas PU since last year when I trade my 96 318 in so I was excited to see what the hemi was like. I cannot say I was impressed. ??? I thought the 300+ horses would do something for me or her (wife) but it didn't. After the test drive I got back in my 24V and smiled. I just love my truck more now. <br>ANyone else try the hemi yet and what was your oppionion. Esp compared to your 24v<br><br><br>

 

I hope you got your theft damage fixed ok. I haven't driven one yet, but I'll bet it &quot;eats&quot; more than the Cummins.

 

I test drove one also and I was pretty disappointed until I looked at the speedometer and realized I was going 85 in a 65 zone. I think the fact that it is so smooth makes it seem not as quick.
