Hi I noticed on one of the 3rd generation boards someone touched upon parts that were left out on the last of the 2nd generation trucks. This fellow said only the very last trucks produced were missing things, but mine was made in 10/01 and there seems to be things that are missing that were on my 99 and 95. Some of the things that seemed to be missing are: rear inner fender liners, right inside upper grab handle, hood insulation, rear cup holder, black bottom tailgate moulding just to name a few. I had the inner fenders put on mine as they were available from the parts dept. At the time the rest of the stuff was on national backorder. The grabhandle and hood insulation are on my list to get. Does anyone know of anything else that was "left off" these trucks in the last year?

There used to be a lighted key "halo" on the ignition switch.

The side body moulding used to go from grill to tailgate.

I think you covered everything else that mysteriously disapeared over the years.

Didn't they stop putting the dimmable-lighted -vanity mirrors on the sunvisors too?

 

I would really like the upper passenger grab handle. Part number? and is the support still under the plastic where it mounts?

DOES ANYONE HAVE A FAIRLY ACCURATE LIST ON WHAT WAS MISSING.I'AM THINK OF BUYING A USED 01 OR 02.WOULD HELP WHEN IT CAME TO BUYING ONE OD THESE BEASTS

 

Other missing items: Under hood trouble light. Glove box light.

 

Mine came with everything except the upper passenger Oh Poop bar, vanity mirror lights (cause I care so much :) and plastic tailgate moulding (glad it didn't come with that). Mine's an early 01.

My '02 (built in March or April, I think) has the underhood light. I never really noticed whether it has a glove box light or not.

 

I think the '99 model year had the most "Standard" toys.
Each year after that a couple of more goodies disappeared.

 

My 2001 has the following :

Ignition switch "halo"
Underhood light
Glovebox light
"oh poop" handle on passenger side A pillar

The only thing I have seen that I don't have is the lights on the backside of the sunvisor with the mirrors.

those items are part of the "light group" option ....... it's about 30 buck ........... if the dealer doesn't check it you don't get those items

 

Somebody took all the rear seat cupholders!!!

That, and they left we the world's worst front seat cupholders.

I have the light group, but it does not include the ignition halo.

Another fairly important thing they started doing was deleting the front axle vacume disconnect. My 2002 has it, but some of the last in the run did not.

 

Mine came missing a hood insulator. Got a new one from the dealer, then had to furnish my own clips.....bummer.
