Update: Production Restrictions

Per donlen.com, the following options/paints are on indefinite restriction (Last update was 10/01. I've removed the non-CTD specs):

AM/FM Radio with 6 Disc CD (RBQ)
Patriot Blue Paint (PB7)
Silver Paint (QSB)
ST Package (2TA) - Dodge City
Rear Window Defroster (GFA)
Work Special Group (AS9) - Dodge City
Heavy Duty Snow Plow Package (AHD) - Dodge City

The following engines are on restriction until 1/02/03 when ordered with the automatic 4 speed transmission (DG8):
5.9 Liter Cummins 24 Valve Diesel (ETC)
5.9 Liter High Output Cummins Turbo Diesel (ETH)

For the full listing see:

Best to y'all
Bill

Re:Update: Production Restrictions

Mrbilly - Here's the text from DonLen (a fleet supplier that tracks factory output) as of Nov. 7th:

-------------

"The Following options/paints are on indefinite restriction:
AM/FM Radio with 6 Disc CD (RBQ)
Patriot Blue PAint (PB7)
Silver Paint (QSB)
ST Package (2TA) - Dodge City
Rear Window Defroster (GFA)
Work Special Group (AS9) - Dodge City
4.7 Liter V8 Engine (EVA) - Ram 1500 models
Heavy Duty Snow Plow Package (AHD) - Dodge City
The following engines are on restriction until 01/02/03 when ordered with the automatic 4 speed electric transmission (DG8):
5.9 Liter Cummins 24 Valve Diesel (ETC)
5.9 Liter High Output Cummins Turbo Diesel (ETH)
8.0 Liter V10 Engine (EWA)
The 5.7 Liter V8 Engine (EZA) is on restriction until 12/02/02 - Ram 1500 models
The Chassis Cab will not be produced for model year 2003, production will resume for the 2004 model year but timing is TBD"

---------------

I think the info, which was correct initially, is not accurate. I've tracked the DonLen postings from the beginning and they seem to have gone bad on us starting with the Oct. updates. I apologize for posting information from a site which is proving to be unreliable. Mea Culpa, my friends.

For example, I know for a fact the paint restrictions are inaccurate. Also, the "standard" 24-valve Cummins has been readily available with the auto trans for quite some time.

Your dealer should know by now (or soon) if your truck order has passed "audit" status - that means the options you want are do-able and the truck will be allowed to proceed to build status.

As personal penance, I will limit myself to 2 COORS tonight and will try not to smile like an idiot while driving my new truck the rest of the week. ;D

Best to y'all,
Bill

Re:Update: Production Restrictions

UTAH,
I think you can have at least three Coors tonight because I believe your data was most likely OK when you posted it The auto they are talking about (DG8) is the new 48 auto. The current 47 auto is designated DGP. Also the limitation on the Hemi not going into the 1500 was accurate as DC just recently anounced the availability.
Latter, The Boss Hog (KZ'ing my life away)

Re:Update: Production Restrictions

When we visit my son in Kerns we take him a case of the stronger brew. He then saves it for special occasions.
