email address restrictions

Why is it that hotmail (and other) addresses are not accepted when registering? Russ

Because it's too easy for someone who's been banned to re-register on the site with one of those addresses. We've also had problems with people registering multiple usernames in the past, which isn't allowed on the site. Generally, people who are using hotmail and yahoo etc. are blocked because it's a huge PITA to manage all of the issues that come with that.

So if registerd in the past with a hotmail account, Am i still ok here? Guess i am just lucky is all ;D

I implemented the change about 6 months ago.
