Mirrors
Mirrors
I Drive a 2001 2500 and noticed this cooler season that my left mirror wasn't clearing when I turned the mirror heat on. Does anyone out there know of a fix other than replacing the mirror?
Are there extendable mirrors that maintain power adj and heat available

I would swear that I found these cheaper. If you get some let me know I am thinking about them also, just don't have the $$ right now.
**EDIT**
That was the link I was looking for... Cheapest I could find them

You can get heated/power flip outs that are the same as the stockers on the 3rd gen's.
Thya are made by Kool Vue and are a direct replacement. I have them on mine and they are nice.

I bought mine from these guys and I love them. You will need the brackets for the inside of the door I bought mine from dodge... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PAIR-...item3a610b1fbb
I just ordered mine a few days back. Kool Vue's that are much cheaper than anywhere else, I think it came out to $155 for both sides including shipping and tax.

I'm wondering if a wire is broken, they are pretty thin.
You may just need a solder iron. If you have the stock round "mouse" ear mirrors, I have not had one of those apart so I can't really say where to start, but the glass is usually just siliconed to the plastic plate that holds it in position.

Just as a reference, I just purchased a set of the tow/power/heat mirrors from speedycarparts.com. $70/side. It was like $152 out the door and by the looks of them they come with the brackets, even though the site says they don't.
