Question Correct OE Tailgate Decal Color

I just got my 97 Ram painted, but I do not remember if the decals on the tail gate were originally white from the factory, or some sort of silver/white. The truck is emerald green, and repainted the same. Can someone describe to me the correct decal color for an emerald green 97 model ram 2500. I am refering to the tailgate decal that says "Dodge" and "4x4"

Thanks,
Joe

I believe they are a silver color. Similar to the two tone painted trucks with the lower panels called 'driftwood'.

White was used on the "Sports"

It may be cheaper to have a sign shop print you them on decal vinyl.

The font is called Dodger.

Emerald green trucks had silver tailgate lettering.

It will be way cheaper to get a sign shop to cut them. Ebay has them also.

If you still want to go the factory decal, step it up a notch and order the tailgate emblems off of a 2000 Dakota, they come as a raise letter and are chrome, very sharp looking and not much more than the factory decals for your truck.

The Dakota letters are identical to your Ram but in a raised soft feeling rubber type chrome. Very sharp. They came on certain color trucks with the SLT option.
