I recently ordered a complete Lukes link for my track bar and the tie rod ends. I took it to a shop to have it installed and the guy says the kit is hokey and a waste of money. He said that it looked like the parts are all going to rub on the rotors and the top of the case for the track bar setup. He also thought that they would have to be adjusted at every oil change to keep the parts tight. What gives??? I told him that I heard very good input re these kits. Don't know if I should send it back or look elsewhere to have it installed.

 

Ask around...I don't know much about that kit....but if I was you I would ask around some more.<br>Adam<br>

 

I installed one on mine and a friend installed one on his after he looked at mine. I have had no problems and yes the link is adjustable unlike your stock ball joint that you are cutting out to replace. The kit is also rebuildable once it wears again unlike the joint you are cutting out to throw away.
If you do a lot of off roading (really working the suspension), the new link may contact the front differential cover very lightly. It was the best investment for me since I do not go off road. You can spend a lot more on other products but I'm not sure the end result is any different. Sounds like the guy at your shop wants to sell you some more expensive parts maybe (just me thinking).
One thing about Luke, he will take them back if you're not satisfied. I have talked to him on the phone and he was very helpful. Just stating what works for me.

 

Run away from that shop. The Luke's Link is a very good repair. People (shops) that have no experience with it just want to sell you new parts. You can do it yourself or find another shop.<br>John

Never mind. Found it. $63.00 - Anthony<br>

 

I paid $75 but that included the bushing for the other end of the track bar also. I replaced both ends while I had the bar off.
