interesting brake problem?? I think

When I brake everything is fine, until it starts to get to a slower speed. Once I get to about 20 until I stop the rear kind of hops. Not all over the road, but like I am going over bumps. I thought it was just the road I was on, but it is doing it on all roads now. Anyone experience this??

I had a similar experience when after getting new tires the guys inflated them to 85 psi instead of the 55 I requested.
Problem cured after letting some air out.

tire seperating on the inside, dads did that and the tire had a blister in it. it wasnt rough hops but smooth ones and more noticable at slow speeds.

If you have drum brakes in the rear, it could also be a cylinder that is sticky or weak brake springs. I've seen both before. Don't notice it as much at high speeds but at low speeds, the wheel will lock, especially if it hits a small bump. I had this problem on my trailer where one of the four wheels (left front) would lock up at lower speeds, especially with no load in the trailer.

I was starting to think It might have something to do with the rear brakes, when I pay attention when it happens. It seems to be coming from the back left more

try rotating your tires

move your tires front to back. see if that makes the problem change.

Try applying your brakes while it is doing this and then letting go...does the problem go away? Try putting your emergency brake on slightly does this change the feel?

Jack up the rear tires....Put them on jack stands and put the vehicle in gear....do you see any noticable wobble to the wheel?

It might be a severely warped or cracked brake drum.

if your tire pressures in the rear are fine then I would say its your rear drums out of round....I had the same thing after I installed oversized wheel cylinders for the rears..machined the drums and all was well

Will check the rear brakes this weekend, thanks. Only happens when braking, stops when brakes are not applied

May also be something to do with the emergency brake cable since you say you notice the problem in the rear left.
