Oh wow!!! You are going to get so many different opinions here. I like Rancho 9000's and I got mine from Summit for a little less than $200 I believe. Some like Bleistines (sp?)..personal choise I guess..I have always had good luck with Ranchos.

I went with KYB's, a personel preference. I feel that Bleistines or the 9000's are also a quality products, it boils down to personel preference and what you will be doing. Off-roading, highway, or trailer towing. Just make sure that they atr for the 8800 pound hd, not the 7500 pound std duty.
I am going to go with the Pro Comp MX-6. About 80.00/piece and are adjustable. They have a thicker rod than the Ranchos and feel heavier duty.

Mike

I'm going with the Bilstein's. Offroadwarehouse has them for $61 bucks apiece with $9 bucks shipping fee for 4 .

Put Bilstiens on all 4, WOW!!! What a difference, lifetime garrantee, picked em up at auto zone, 49.99 each! Had them on my old truck for 67,000 miles, still drove like new when I sold it. Never had any experience with the other brands though. Kevin D.

One thing I have to say about AutoZone is you should find the Bilstien part # and take it with you. That way you make sure you get the correct shock.

I went with Rancho 9000x and love them. They provide me with a great ride.

What I run: (1 to 9 - soft to stiff)
Empty: 2 in front and 3 in the back
Towing: 5 in front and 8 in the back
$65.00? That stinks, mine is 2wd, I wonder if that makes a difference? They did not have them in stock, but had them for me the next morning. No additional shipping charges either. I paid under exactly 49.98 each (plus tax) here in Michigan. Still see how that compares with buying online and adding in shipping charges. If you buy two, might be the same, if you buy all 4 at once, you might be better off buying online. Good Luck, Kevin

I bought my Bilstiens from Auto Zone as well and for the Heavy Dutys they wanted $56 something. They had to order them and they where in the next day. Really makes a big improvement in the overall handling of the truck, I've got nothing but good things to say about them. 8)

DB

Re:I need new shocks, What do i buy?

I was looking at mine this evening thinking it's about time for a change with 40K highway miles on them. The "leading edge" of both rear shocks are rusting badly. Has anyone else experienced this?

Go with the HD Bilstein's, you won't be disappointed or replacing shocks every 20k.

Oh, and they are very Yellow!!
