How many gauges
I have read many post in this form regarding guages. can anyone tell me what kind of gauges are key to have.. Also are the gauges costly to have installed and what type of company does the install work...Thanks in advance.. ;D

Tommy
Re:How many gauges
On my 12 valve with manual, only EGT and boost seemed absolutely necessary. 24 valvers seem to want a fuel pressure gauge also to keep an eye on the lift pump. Auto tranny might want a temp gauge too. And whatever other dials you want to make you happy, but these seem to be the basics. I used Dipricols from Geno's Garage in a pilar mount. Did it myself. Somewhere between $200-$250 for everything, not trying to be vague, just can't remember.

Rob
Re:How many gauges
EGT, boost, Tranny (autos) & Fuel Pressure (24V). Those are the favorites. As far as installers, not sure. It's a pretty simple install to do yourself if your even somewhat mechanically inclined! ;D Just take your time. Prices vary, you can start at www.genosgarage.com or www.egauges.com I'm sure some others will chime in with more places! Hope this helps! ;D

Tony

I've ordered EGT, Fuel Pressure, Boost and Tranny Temp. Going with the ROD POD when it comes out. Don't forget to give Wildcat Diesel, one of the sponsors of this site a look for gauges. Rod will treat you right. Be sure to mention DTR. Also DTR store has some gauges that might interest you.

~Dave
