No, it is just something that is easy to check. Gremlins are hard to capture.

On my 97 there are two wire bundle connectors behind the left tire, between the fender liner and the cab. They both carry electricity to the rear of the truck. I have found water in one of them on mine. It also isolates the wiring going aft of the cab for troubleshooting.

The radio in my truck had been in for a long time before I had the problem. It was the dash fuse I think.

I had the same problem with my 01 2500 no parking lights brake lights or dash lights for me i noticed it was a fuse under the hood was blown i replaced it and it blew again, replaced it again and its been fine since im not sure wut caused it to begin with but i havent had any problems so i havent looked more into it..idk if thats any help or if uve already fixed it or wut but thats just my 2 cents

Sorry I should have updated this sooner.

Turns out it was a broken license plate light and it shorted to ground. Just one of those things I guess.....

Thank you so much I had the same issue and it turned out to be the license plate socket I happened to read this first so it took my 5 minutes to fix instead of 5 days. I would have never guessed to even consider those.
