Hazard switch
Hazard switch
1999 2500 truck, when I push the hazard button nothing happens. I do know that in the past when I pushed it there was a loud shirking (sp) noise but nothing now. The 10amp fuse on the side of dash near driver door is good. Is there another fuse or (older days there was a big round or square fuse). Going on a camping trip 3 states away and want to get this fixed in teh next few days. Asked the dealership and the answer--bring it in for a fee to fix it!
Thanks
Thanks
Do the brake lights and turn signals operate normal? Brake lights run "through" the hazard switch, so if they are gone I'd say the switch is dirty/burned out. There should be a flasher in that same fuse compartment, which is what actually causes the delay/flash for turn signals and hazard signals. Should be a fairly easy/cheap item at any auto parts store, and yes I think it is a big round or square plug in deal.
gorms,
Yes the brake/turn signals all work great. There is a blue square fuse but the owners book doesn't say what it is like the other 10 amp fuses so I was worried about pulling it. I will try that and see what happens. Thanks

johnh,
Hi, That is what I am trying to figure out on the fuse panel. According to the owners manual there is a 10 amp fuse but says nothing about the round or square fuse. I am use to the old turck that had a round silver fuse but there is a blue square one but not labeled. So I think that is the one to look at but you would think the manual would state that? Thanks
