Has anyone removed the water/fuel separator lever assembly?

Just looking for someone who may have removed and/or cleaned and/or replaced the unit. I'd like to know what's in Pandora's box before I go opening it. Thanks.

More info to us may provide more for you , fill in sig = you truck details .
Terms may be off , or different than what I use , lever *** ?
My truck 94 , makes me think of lift pump , but that is separate from the fuel filter , which has a water drain valve /sensor on bottom .
Also I have the fuel prefilter/heater .

there's a spring and plunger inside it attached to the lever...pretty simple. A little wd40 or oil will keep it from seizing up.
