Hey guys, I recently posted about what year 2nd gen was "the best". I'm interested in what you guys with 4x4 2nd gen Dually's get with Fuel mileage? Standards and automatics ? Also is there alot more room in the 98 and later club cabs? half doors?

 

With my 99 24 Valve, the last time I hand calculated I was around 24MPG Highway. I have the automatic, only had the XZT+ at the time and was on #1 Fuel.

 

Mine runs about 17 as a daily driver & down to 10-12 towing 9k but I also run up to 90% WMO.

 

I just got back from a 628 mile round trip to the mountains and back. 23.5 mpg calculated, 23 mpg on the overhead comp.

 

I get about 19 empty, 14 pulling 3K, and 10-12 pulling about 7K. I find that can vary considerably with speed

 

I think the cabs are about the same size. The quads are just easier to get in and out of and get gear in and out of.
