I currently have an overhead console in my 01 but would like the digital read-out added. Just wanted to see what I would need to convert this besides just adding a new console. I would imagine the wiring would be a little different, but not to sure how. Any Ideas?

 

I am trying to find the same information. Does anyone know if my 01 Dodge 3500 SLT wiring in place to change to a digital overhead console?

 

The wiring should be there but you may need to add the temp sensor and related items for it to operate correctly. I thing the pcm runs all the other functions except maybe the compass.

I did this mod a couple of years ago. The harness to the standard overhead only supplies power to the courtesy lights. For the console with the overhead display you will need a new harness from the display to 2 underdash connectors. You will also need a temp sensor and underhood sensor wiring. The underdash connectors should be there and there is a sensor wire that terminates near the underhood light.
This was done on an 02 SLT and I believe the donor truck was a 99 1500 gasser.

 

The only thing you get when doing this is a compass and outside temp right? It just seems like alot of work plus I like my pocket, my sirius radio fits there perfect.
