Fuel Gauge issues
Fuel Gauge issues
So about 2 years ago I filled up my tank and I was rewarded with a fuel gauge telling me I was way past empty. I restarted the truck and all was well.
This week it started to do it all the time. In fact, when I start my truck, if I hold it at 1200 RPM it will eventually go back up to reading the correct fuel level…
Between this and the torque converter lock/unlock; I have to believe I am a victim of the infamous grounding issue.
What say ye, forum dwellers, should I have a witch hunt at all my grounding locations?

lockup, etc
saw your post about lock up, I have been fighting with mine off and on for most of 300,000 miles. Tried all the standard fixes somw of which worked for 1 day to 6months. I know that it has sometjhin to do with load and a voltage drop in some wires. last may I disconnected the ground cable from the battery or the right side battery and just left it lay there with several accessories still connected. I just ran off of one battery. has been perfect since. a month ago I added a ground cable from battery to battery ground to ground to maintain 12 volt status and give me more juice to the starter. It is working great and I think I have finally fixed it for good. I think the loop cable system might be most of the problem.
