Front Tow Hooks

How di I end up with a 4x4 without front tow hooks? I have a brushguard on, could that have replaced them? i'd rather have some tow hooks. I tend to get stuck in mud or snow out at the farm... It is the SLT trim pkg if that matters..

My '01 doesn't have 'em either. I found out one day when I got down on knees with a chain one day to pull someone out, and what-a-u-know, no hooks. I had always thought they were there. They must be an option when truck is built.

I think they are usually an add-on option.

My '97 with the SLT didn't have them either... when I checked into prices at the time it was cheaper to add a front mount receiver than tow hooks. I found a direct bolt on receiver, the only modification needed was some trimming on the little black plastic trim piece that hangs down in front. You might consider that option if you are looking at adding tow hooks.

yah, that's the other reason I need them. A front reciver hitch isn't a bad idea, i did that on a cherokee years ago, added shacle mounts to each frame horn and the reciver in the middle.

As said earlier, hardly any 2nd gens have tow hooks. I'm probably going to fab up my own and mount them somehow one of these days at work

Mine did not come with tow hooks (Bought new in 99). I had my dealer install them ($275). No one else in my town would do it. Just takes one time crawling in mud to wrap the axle with a strap to have hooks installed at any cost.

Tow hooks were not an option for the 2nd gen trucks. There were/are available through MOPAR parts, and if I remember right I paid about $115.00 for the pair in 1995. They are an easy install, and if you have the lower air ****, it is marked for the hook opening, and simple to cut out.

I would like them on my truck too but since they cost about $150 these days I am considering installing heavy duty D-rings on the forward frame someplace.
