This thread got me fired up. Bgt two 10,000 lb hooks from Tractor Supply.
Going to see if I can figure a way to make a backing plate or bracket and mount them. tricky part is fitting them under my after market Aluminum Bumper. Investment, so far.... $45.00.

Story was that it was his first time putting a boat in and he was told to not get his truck too far in the water. He just couldn't get it in far enough to get the boat wet. Like I said, he's driving a Ford....

Thanks, Dr E., from me also!
Just the ideas I needed to get started.
My 02 looks a bit different underneath, but the same concept should work well!
Now I'm really stoked! Pics to follow, hopefully by sundown tomorrow!
And weather is even cooperating.... We're down to highs in the low 70's for this weekend!
Apologies to you Canadians... couldn't resist!

Got my hooks done! Decided I wanted them sticking out... just under my bumper.
Solicited welding help from member 'XLR8R' (LazarSmith) and a few of his designs ideas later.....
We got a little carried away with the frame for mounting them but it works with factory holes and bumpers grade 8 bolts ...and is very stout.

After having mine for a month... I decided I don't like the look of them sticking out so far. But I don't like factory hooks the are tucked way underneath either (hard to get to if front end is buried somewhere). Any ideas?
Thinking about welding a block to my front cross piece and hanging Clevis (shackles)? That would put them right behind and below front bumper.
I don't know??

i just got a set of hooks from my neighbout. he had a 99 v10 ram 2500 4x4.

anyone know if the hooks from his truck will fit mine? does the frame have any extra support/reinforcement up front with the cummins as opposed to the V10?

anyone have any pics on a 2000?

he gave me front and rear hooks. anyone have pics of both? he is not sure how to put them on either . . .

Never seen any rear hooks. But if you scroll up to the link I posted you should see some pics of them on a second gen (front hooks that is). did you get the brackets as well? Or just the hooks themselves?

i got the brackets as well as the hooks.

i have checked out the link/pics. i see where the brackets have to go, ut for some reason i think my frame has extra reinforcement which will interfere with the bracket mounting.

some pics besides the link would help me out i'm thinking . . . especially if anyone has a 2000 with hooks.
