Front speakers quit

My front speakers quit. Rear ones are ok.

Any guidance as to what to look for?

Thanks

Which stereo do you have? If it is the Infinity variety there are a bazillion wires going to each 6x9 in the doors. Water passes down the window, right along side the speakers, and is supposed to flow out the bottom. Any water on the plug and it will corrode and render them useless.

More info would be great. Which stereo? Have you popped the door panels and looked at the plugs and receptacles yet? Do the speakers work intermittently or just flat out don't work?

Thanks for the quick reply.

The radio is the Infinity with cd/cassette, and no I haven't done anything yet.

The front speakers just don't have any sound. I can move the joystick and the only sound is what is coming from the rear speakers.

It hasn't rained here in some time, so I wouldn't think there is water in the doors.

I was going to have a new radio installed but don't want to go thru that expense right now, so thought I would try and trace the problem and fix it.

Same thing happened to me. I don't have the infinity system in mine but both of my door speakers quit on me. The funny thing was, the passenger door went first, then the drivers about a month later. So now I've got it all faded to the back and I am dealing with it until I find time to tkae the door panels off and replace them.
