Anyone using Q-Forms kickpanels for component front speakers
Anyone using Q-Forms kickpanels for component front speakers
Looking at upgrading my speakers. From my search on here, I've seen the 2 main options are to go with a replacement 6x9's, or some components. I've got experience with both, but what I'm wondering is who has used some Q-Forms kick-panels for components? What do you think of those?

I put CDT 6.5 components in my front doors. I got the adapter plates from Crutchfield. I used a hole saw and mounted the tweeters in the little plastic area in front of the fabric on the door panel (kinda shaped like a boot toe?). There's a hole in the steel right behind it. Then I mounted the x-over to the back of the door panel.
Only thing visible is the tweets, install was clean and they sound great.

I have a similar question, I am looking at upgrading my door speakers, front and rear. I have the tweeters on the front pillars from the factory. Are the door speakers 2-way's? Do I just need to find some good aftermarket speakers and swap them out?
I run the Q-forms...Except I had to. I didn't want to hack up my doors, and I'm running a 3-way component Set...6.5", 4", and a Tweeter. I have the 6.5" in the door, and the 4" and tweeter in the Kick panel!
The color is off since Dodge quit making the interior paint for my truck, but my seats and sub box are the wrong color too, so at this point, who cares.
Passenger side install was a breeze...Driver side is another story. You have to bend the parking brake pedal out of the way...and the way they tell you to do it in the truck is next to impossible...so 3 bolts, one wire, and a cable and the whole pedal assembley comes out of the truck, into the vise, and under the hou wrench to be formed into the correct shape. I can snap some pictures if you'd like!
Any more questions?
Chris
