Fix to the cracked dash problem!!

I finally fixed the cracked dash, broken transfer case, orange peeling paint, rusting doors, screwed up wiring, bad brakes, slipping transmission, #53 block, bad front bearings, bad heater core, $75 oil change, bad injection pump and lift pump as well as $.50 a gallon higher fuel dilemma on my well taken care of, owned since brand new 2002 Dodge 3500. I SOLD THE **** THING!!! Bought a Ford F150 and could not be happier! What a pain in the *** that dodge was!! Finally went back to Ford after hearing all the great things about Dodge Cummins and can promise you I will never look back!

What a relief to not worry about all the issues with the Dodge!

No real point to this post, just wanted to say that I have fixed all the problems with my wonderful over-rated Dodge truck. Someone else can worry about it now!!

wheels,

This a diesel by any chance? I thought I heard the F150 was going to be the first of the big three out with a diesel.

Sorry you had so many problems with the Dodge. You didn't ned a diesel if you replaced it with a F150; therefore, you should be better off.

There is no question that any diesel truck outside of a 12V is expensive to keep. Any gas truck will cost less to operate, if you do not need to haul heavy.
Take the next step & get a Camry.

F150's are a pretty reliable light duty truck. If you don't need a 3/4 ton, then why not. I got so much crap from my dad when I got my dodge, he's a Ford guy. Who does he call when he need's a heavy load pulled though....

Good luck with the new ride.

PS I've never seen a Dodge with a cracked dash, even at the junk yards. And my truck sits out side all day, every day from 105 to -5 degrees, and I have a gauge holder screwed into the dash in front of normal gauges by the window. You guys must be using armor-all or something.

260,000 miles on my 12V and it only made me walk once. Another time the fuel shutoff solenoid got so dirty it stopped working and it took me about 1/2 hour to discover the problem and temporarily block it open. Another time a wire below the steering wheel broke and it took me about 1/2 hour to discover what the problem was and fix it. I wouldn't trade my Dodge/Cummins for ANY OTHER TRUCK. I've owned 1 Chevy 1/2 ton, a Chevy 3/4 ton, a Chevy 2-ton dumptruck, and a Ford 1-ton with a 14-foot box on the back, and this is the best of any of them.

Good on ya, Wheels! Whatever floats your boat I guess. I am very happy with my CTD so far, even though it has cost me a ton of $$$. I can't hardly believe how many "hencho en Mexico" parts are used in building these Dodge trucks. Cheep, Cheep, Cheap parts that cost huge $$ to replace from the *******. No wonder I can never find any parts for my truck at the local pick and pull!

Happy Truckin'

Mike

People have legitimate complaints about the rams. VP problems are unacceptable. Having to add gauges and fuel systems to combat VP problems is ridiculous. Needing aftermarket track bars and steering stabilizers is ridiculous. The cracked dash which books at 4hr R&R is uncalled for. Dodge and the government ****** up the best part of the truck when they went from 12V to 24V. Cummins 12V & Mercedes 617 engines are 2 of the best albeit for 2 different applications.

I think the VP44/24 valve was forced onto Dodge by the environmental wackos who run things in the Guv'mint.

It's obvious to anyone with common sense than a good 12V which can go 500,000 miles without too much problem, is a less polluting truck than two 24V trucks, once you factor in the pollution from building two 24V trucks versus building one 12V truck.
