Factory CD player clock too dim

My factory CD player clock seems to have burned a bulb. It was sure brighter before. With or without the lights on, it's the same. Can't hardly even see it in the daytime now. When I turn the lights on and set the dimmer setting one notch down, its impossible during the day and hard to see at night even. The odometer is brighter and they use to both be the same.

Can a bulb in the CD player burn out? All other functions on the player seem to be lit up as normal. But the main band/clock/cd track readout is dimmer.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Can it be fixed easy? I don't really want a new head unit... yet.

Just rebuilt on of those animals a week ago. There are small replacement lights behind the PCB board.First take the front face off.Yours being a newer model,it should have 3 small screws on the PCB.The bulbs are held by turning the bulb using a flat head screw driver to remove them.I have to replace a couple of bulbs on mine.

Thanks Dave, can you get the bulbs at a common radio shack if you bring the old ones in?

I'll give it a shot as you describe and report back if I have any problems.
