Red face Dumb tow mirror question

Ok I couldn't find this, I had power/heated mirrors on my truck and had to get the manual tow mirrors. I'm currently stashing money to order the 3rd gens power mirrors. Question is d all power mirrors come electric and heated? Or can you get the electric mirros and have them not be heated? I need to the heated. (Oregon) and dont want to jump on a set of 3rd gen power mirrors and have them not be heated. I imagine that the power option includes the heated option as well.?

I'n not 100% sure, but your best bet is to call your local dealer and ask them. They can probably steer you in the right direction.

The 3rd gen tow mirrors are all heated and power. Keep in mind however that these mirrors will not fit your 2001 ram. The only ones that are available for the 2nd gen trucks are not power or heated.

I read a thread on the TDR about a guy that took a set of 2nd gen bases and mounted the 3rd gen mirrors. If I remember correctly, it was a real simple procedure that required very little modifications.

The other options might be:

http://www.cipamirrors.com/

http://www.ttt-mirror.com/

I have the ****'s on my 2000. I have the heated/power version. My only complaint is the right side mirror vibrates a lttle too much. Although, this is probably just mine.

Oh, I just checked, the second link only works on 3rd gens. But, they sure look cool.

I just finished the conversion from 2nd. gen. tow mirrors to the 3rd gen. power heated tow mirrors. It was quit the job. It took up all of my Sat. to do it. I bought the 2nd. gen tow mirrors and a set of the 3rd gen. tow mirrors and dismantled them and then put them back together by putting the power heated head on the 2nd gen. base.
Was a little bit of a job but now it is very well worth it. I had the sport style power heated mirrors so I had all of the wires and in cab controls which made it easier.
One of the best up grades I think you can do to our trucks. I can't believe how much better that I can see behind me now.

Let us know how it turns out and what is entailed. I'd like to add power. Truck had power, but swapped at dealer for tow mirrrs. I imagine the wires are in there, but no controller switch.

Just finished 2nd gen to 3rd gen power heated swap.It took me about 6 hours in my fab shop. All I can suggest is watch out when the spring lets loose, and make sure your not hovering over it on the last 2 tabs. They cost me $498.00 for all 4 mirrors.

You would think that by now, someone would be providing the OEM tow mirrors for the 2nd gen with power.

I want them, but I will not pay $500 bucks to do a conversion.
