Door swap
Door swap
My 01 doors are rusting rapidly, the good news is I found a pair that are pretty good shape, same color and all. The bad news is that the 'new' doors are power windows and door locks whereas the stockers were not. Shouldnt be an issue but the new ones are not complete, the power window and lock controls are missing for example. My question then is: easier to simply strip the new doors and install the original manual everything or can I find all the missing stuff at a decent cost? I found the control switches at Rock Auto but not the bezels and trim stuff necessary to install them.
Also, can i leave the power door locks and use them manually until I get the controls ironed out? Just change the original door lock cylinder? I went through the Haynes and it SEEMS easy enough but my projects are NEVER as easy as they seem like they should be....
Anyone done this sort of thing before and how bad was it?
Thanks for the help, again!
btw, best wat to remove the plastic badging with a heat gun and some WD 40?
