Differences between 95 and 96s

Hey everybody, I was wondering what the differences between the 95s and 96s were, mostly as far as the electrical. I have a 95 2500 reg cab 2wd auto that I have had for a couple of years and didn't like it too much so I finally found what I wanted, 96 3500 exd cab 4wd 5sp flatbed.
This truck's fuel gauge stays at below empty all the time. It's probably the sending unit but wanted to make sure. I have a factory repair manual I got for my 95 but some stuff isn't adding up. Don't know if it could be mostly due to differences in the gas and diesel wiring or if there are differences in the model years. I would get up under the 95 to see if sending unit connector is the same as the 96s, but the 96 being a flatbed dually I have all the room in the world to get to it. Not the case in the 95. Also, is there any mechanical differences between the two years, other than engine power output? Really don't want to have to buy antoher manual.

Well nevermind, squeezed up under the 95 and they are different connectors.

So next question is, does anyone have a digital copy of the 96 factory manual?

Your local library should have all the manuals, including the factory one, FSM in book format or on dvd/cd....

That was a simple enough answer that makes so much sense. Thank goodness we still have libraries.

I was also astonished to find that out! I have my own copy of the 2001 FSM with all the correction pages in place.

For the 1996 model year, they went to the new JTEC PCM, and changed to the new OBDII diagnostic connector under the dash. As well, the supplier changed for electrical connectors, so a lot of them became physically different (as well as more difficult to get apart.) Besides the increased power rating, I can't think of any other differences. I think they deleted the red and blue interior colours.

95 was the last year of the 47RH, 96 brought in the RE, totally different control scheme...... Doesn't affect his 5 speed truck though.
