Did any '02 trucks come Group 65 batteries?

Did any of the later model '02 trucks come with Group 65 batteries, or did all 2nd Gen trucks only come with Group 27?

It's new battery time and it would be nice to buy Group 65 batteries AND get factory battery trays and hold down clamps designed for the Group 65 battery. My truck came with the Group 27 batteries.

I am not in the mood to hack away at the factory tray to just make it fit.

Thanks.

When i was looking at new trucks in 2002, i do remember seeing group 65 batteries in the later model 2002 trucks, might be after center axle disconnect went away. I also had thought about getting the correct battery trays to convert my 2001, never saw any, maybe dodge would have correct trays.

I haven't been able to find two sets of part numbers for the 2002 trucks on any of the online Dodge parts stores. The same p/n is used for the '94-'01 and the '02.

I'm hoping somebody else might have better luck.

FWIW, the 02 parts manual only has the one battery tray part number listed.

I found some Group 27 810 CCA Sears DieHard Gold batteries. Unfortunately, they don't have the best warranty at 36 month free replacement and no prorate after that.

The Sears battery book listed the 2002 Early with two Group 27's and the 2002 Late with two Group 65's for the Cummins equipped Ram 2500.

Perhaps Dodge manufactured so few trucks with the Group 65 batteries that it doesn't make financial sense for them to make replacement trays and hold down clamps.
