death wobble?

Hey guys im lookin at a 94 sclb 4x4 auto with 180k on it. Has 35's and offroad rims, upgraded torque converter and valve body and an aftermarket fuel plate. I drove it and its smooth and powerful, but the only thing holding me back is he said that the guy he bought it from (his buddy) was driving down the highway when something in the front end went crazy and almost made him total it. He said it was only when something hits just right does it freak out like that. He himself has not experience it but he also said hes only driven it around town and hasnt taken it over 55. I really like the truck but I dont want someone elses pos ya got me? Any help would be so appreciated!

I'm not sure on all the years that had a death wobble. do a search on it. seems these trucks are horrible on the front end parts. I have never had it happen to me but. I have done most upgrades that are to stop the death wobble. you would want to look at the front steering parts. have someone turn the wheel while you look at the track bar and steering parts. and check for alot of loose connections. may want to lift it up and check the hub's and ball joints too.

I dont trust my judgement on all that so what would I tell the mechanic just to check the front end?
