It's impossible on making a judgement on this without seeing the truck and the line in question and the "couldn't comunicate with the module" is very possible, been there....done that. If you ground the test wire I described in the pm I sent and the lights won't flash a code it could very well be a module problem. On the keeping of the old parts that is different from state to state I believe. We are not required to keep old parts, though I often do if I have a bad vibe about the customer whos vehicle I'm working on, or just want to show them what we did (although most don't have a flippin clue as to what I'm showing them or why). As for the leak showing up it's very possible that with the testing they performed may have been the straw that broke the camels back, and it doesn't take much air in your brake system to end up with a pedal that has no feel. I have on a couple occasions over the years stood on a brake pedal and burst a hose. You and I both know that's not supposed to happen if everything is up to par, so we end up getting called liars and theives over a part that was near failure. Now I don't know who worked on your truck, or where it was done, but apparently from your statements here you were not at all comfortable with the work they were performing. If you want me to join in and call them all liars and theives and you were nuts to take it to a dealer fine. If you would like some assistance in checking a few things out concerning your RWAL system pm me and I'll try to do what I can.

The "we threw them away" excuse does not get it.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I totally agree here!!! I would get a hold of someone who will help you here. They HAVE to give you your old parts. Makes me angry just reading this. Call the Bureau of Automotive Repair and tell them your story or at least turn them in. I beleive it goes against them.

In CA they have to keep your parts, but many dealers have a box you need to check on the W/O so they can toss them and cover their butt at same time.

I always check the box. I want to see that worn muffler bearing.
