Dash for pre 98.5

I have to find a dash replacement for my 97. It is crumbling apart. I located several for the 98.5, but none for the 97. Not available from Dodge. I even tried to contact a couple of radio specialty shops to rebuild the dash out of fiberglass. Noone wants to try it. The truck has 111,000 and is in perfect shape other than the dash. There has to be a way to fix it.

If you haven't already, check out LMC Truck. They have molded plastic dash covers that match your year truck. These adhere down over your existing dash and sell for about $170.00. Their web site is www.lmctruck.com or call them at 1-800-562-8782.

I bought the Geno's dash plastic dash cover several years ago. Structurally though, I have a terrible problem and this dash could "total" the truck. I am concerned about it falling in the floor if I hit a bump. Has anyone converted to a 98.5? Seems those dashes are available.

The 98.5 dashes are so much different a conversion would be very difficult.

Can't swear this will help, but they claim it is an OEM part.

Give them a call, for 320 bucks it had better be the whole OEM cap.

Plastic Parts Inc. in Florida makes a replacement dash top. I believe that's the one sold by genos and maybe others, but I'm not 100% positive. IIRC, the price from PPI is about $320. I don't have any experience with it, but it's on my list.

These folks have a lot of the dash pieces in stock. Good site to bookmark.
