Dash crack went from short to long
My 95 had a smal crack for awhile and has gone from about 1 inch to 7 inches. Truck is usually parked in a garage but I have only had it about 2 1/2 yrs.
Anybody have any success repairing a cracked dash? Or is only option to get a dash mat? To me the dash appears brittle so doubtful a repair will work
Thanks

Chapter President
Mine cracked from the WS to the defroster vents first. That's only a short distance and didn't bother me much. Next, it started to crack right up the dash over the instrument panel.
That' when I took action! I took a very small drill bit, not much bigger then the crack, and "finger drilled" a hole right at the end of the crack. So far, it hasn't"grown".

USMC,
You basically have three options:
1. Replace your dash
2. Buy a dash mat (like you said)
3. Contact a local dealership that has lots of used cars. They usually know of people who make a living by repairing small rock chips, fixing dashes, yada, yada, yada.
They should be able to repair your dash, but I've also seen them repaired good enough just to give that taillight guarantee . So be a little leery about how long a repair will last.
good luck
