Does anybody know this. Apparently there are none anywhere East of the Mississippi at a Dodge dealer. My Cummins dealer won't do anything without a part number....

Pappyman is right.. As long as you have the SN of your engine and CPL, Cummins should look it up in about 2 min. Truth is the heater is the same since 89 I think.. There are 2 versions available 750W and 1000W, Take your pick.<br><br>Tell your Cummins dealer to pull up his socks.. <br><br>J-eh

Are you sure it's the block heater and not the cord? Mine quit 2 years ago and I was told to check out the cord. Most of the time the cord is all that needs to be replaced. Get it from Cummins, lot cheaper than getting same part from the dealer.<br><br>Gene

 

My friend put an ohmmeter on the cord and the reading was the same as his 02 which works just fine. Doesn't that mean the heater is bad and not the cord?? Sorry, I'm no electronics whiz so I'm not sure.....

If the ohmmeter registers a current flow when you put the leads on each side of the plugin, your block heater and cord are fine. The only exception to this is if you had a dead short and then you'd be tripping the breaker in the house.
