that cubby hole/storage bin on a 5 speed

Okay, I saw a thread on this in the 3rd Gens but nothing on 2nd Gens.

Turns out another member had the same idea with his 3rd gen as I did with my truck

You know that storage bin thing in front of the shifter on the 5 speed?? Like below the stere and stuff?? I was wondering if I could remove that and install my CB somehow??

has anyone done thise or know how to easily remove that piece?? is it a seperate part? It is not shown in my Haines manual.

Thanks.

Pull the dash bezel off and you will see how it's attached. Very easy to remove. I put my guages in there but a CB would work too.

I pulled it out today. It's easy.

Just remove the dash trim bezel (it just pulls off) and there are two screws at the top of the bin hidden behind the bezel, take those out and it pops out easy.

I will basically have to mount the radio paralell to the dash kind of thing but I'm sure it can be done. I need to fab a bracket. Hoping I can Jerry rig something for the time being.
