Just a guess. All the plug inns will be there and ready..Detroit typically builds stuff this way, if there is a option include it in the wiring...is cheaper then a individual wire package.

My question also!
My ideal of a "crewcab" is a full 4 door truck and a 8 foot box with a 159 inch or so wheelbase.
I'm not sure Dodge made that in 96.

Well that sure made all of us think. Might be able to put short bed quad.
My real suggestion is find what you desire and buy. Sell your's and you will be far ahead, labor wise, dollar wise and maintain your sanity. Nothing like this is as easy as it should be. Guess why I know?

Darn, you got my hopes up. I know there are a few out there that have been custom made but I wonder how many.

Oh man, my cousin was just dumping money into his two door v12, it was purchased as a two door, from the dealer he took it to a chop shop, chopped it in half and made it a 4 door, it was sweet but expensive, that truck would tow his 30 foot boat at 105 mph, he said after that "it got kinda squirrely". It only got about 5 mpg. lmao I wish I had pictures.

The clubcab frame has additional cab-mounts that the reg-cab frame does not have - additionally, the reg-cab frame kick-up for the bed is where those extra mounts would be added - 2nd-gen frames are made in three pieces: front section determines 2wd or 4wd - middle section determines cab type and wheelbase - rear section determines bed length and wheelbase - so, if you were to fabricate a short-bed setup, you could still have body\frame clearance problems if you welded the frame brackets to install the club cab body - 'nuther option would be to buy a broke 2500\3500 gasser (patooie!) club cab truck for cheap, install your Cummins therein - also, not really sure how those wiring instructions apply to this, but Chrysler is the only one of the big three to include available options as part of the basic wiring harness(es) - GM and FoMoCo do not
