coolant change

Today I pulled the radiator out and cleaned all the oil/dirt off and pressured washed. changed the upper/lower hosed and T stat. My problem is that the temp goes up and back quickly. Do I have to purge the air out of the system? If so How? oh 2002 2500.

Fill the cooling system with a 50/50 mixture of
water and antifreeze
Fill coolant reserve/overflow tank to the FULL
mark.
Start and operate engine until thermostat
opens. Upper radiator hose should be warm to touch.
If necessary, add 50/50 water and antifreeze
mixture to the coolant reserve/overflow tank to maintain
coolant level. This level should be between the
ADD and FULL marks. The level in the reserve/overflow
tank may drop below the ADD mark after three
or four warm-up and cool-down cycles.

yeah, they purge the air well with silvers way, FYI my guage also goes up to 210 quickly, then dropps back fast when the t stat opens, then it creeps back up again then right at 210 dropps. Does this all the time.

My gauge hits 190 and then drops down, slowly building back to 190.

Since you cleaned up the radiator its doing its job a lot more efficiently now.

Nice work!
