1st gen locking hubs?

Anyone ever try making the locking hub setup off a 1st gen fit a 2nd gen? I know about the ford stuff just wondering if using dodge parts would work.

Not easy, I also believe they are even longer than the Furd stuff by 5/8" a side.

My friend put manuals on his 2002 due to a vibration in his front driveline that was driveing him nuts at 80+MPH, he said it was very expensive to do and not to bother with it on my 1995 as my driveline is not live like his is.

Yep, but he was talking about adapting the locking hub, etc. from a Dodge D60.....

May not be "live" or locked in, but your U joints/Axles are spinning just the same.

I fully intend to change mine over as soon as I save up the coin........

Be aware, the ferd stuff makes the wheel stick out approx. 15/16" per side further than the unit bearings. I have most of the stuff to do that conversion before I laid it out on CAD.....it was a deal killer for me.

I did the Ford parts conversion, it did not add 15/16" to each side. Mine was less than 1/2" I don't even notice it. Cost was around $500 with new rotors, bearings, races and seals.

Not sure how you measured it, but here are pictures of a real Furd D60 and the brand new OEM bearing assy that I am going to install until I can swing the aftermarket conversion. The only possible caveat is the Furd knuckles might change this somewhat, I was not going to use them as the cheapest set I can find is 500 bucks, I was redrilling the spindles as Joops did on his conversion.
