Caaa-rumb! Dropped it in the tank!

Poured a 16 oz. bottle of outboard oil in the tank...and....let the little o-ring that holds the cap on fall into the tank.

I filled it to the top to see if it floated, but no luck. Will the little sucker hurt anything in the tank?

Why were you pouring outboard oil in there, the truck still won't float.

The only thing I would be worried about would be it getting stuck in the pick-up tube.

Yep, that's my worry.

The rascal is close to 1" in diamature and hopefully won't plug up the screen.

There is a screen in there isn't there?

I'm not sure. Hopefully somebody that has replaced the fuel tank sender will chime in.

I wouldn't worry too much either. I've looked into some big rig tanks (empty) Sheweee, they can get pretty nasty!

Don't give it a second thought. I have an old fuel tank module to look at. The entire pick tube area is covered by a screen.

You sir, are good to go!

I figured if it was going to cause a problem, it would show up on my FP gage first.

It's a real PO'd way of saying "crumb!".That's the extent of profanity I use here on DTR.

Your in serious danger. The rubber will dissolve and make it's way through the screen and into you injection pump and clog the pump up and fry it. That's after it takes out your FASS as well. You should drop the tank and extract it ASAP.

You'll be fine. There is a screen in the tank.
