Poured a 16 oz. bottle of outboard oil in the tank...and....let the little o-ring that holds the cap on fall into the tank.
I filled it to the top to see if it floated, but no luck. Will the little sucker hurt anything in the tank?

The only thing I would be worried about would be it getting stuck in the pick-up tube.

Your in serious danger. The rubber will dissolve and make it's way through the screen and into you injection pump and clog the pump up and fry it. That's after it takes out your FASS as well. You should drop the tank and extract it ASAP.
You'll be fine. There is a screen in the tank.

on my 96 gasser with the 360 i had to replace a fuel pump in the tank on that and you would be scared at all the plastic shavings and crap thats floating in there from when they made the tank. you should be fine
