A/C question-concern

Hello everyone,

I have a 1997 2500 4x4 diesel with a little over 109,000 miles on it. My A/C is cooling good but I have noticed that there is no condensation coming out of the drain line. In months past when I used my A/C after parking my truck there would be a good amount of condensation on the conrete driveway. I pulled back the carpet on the passenger side only to find it to be bone dry. What could cause this since my A/C is cooling fine but not producing any condensation? Is something going out in my A/C system? Please help since I have no clue about this issue.

I would check the refridgerant level. It may be getting low but still have enough to cool but not enough to make condensation. Pickup a can at the auto store for around $15.00 and put in. Mine has a slow leak and have to refill every year around this time. Cheaper to refill than fix every year and it will last all summer and into the winter.

That's the way mine went. I went two summers adding a can. I would notice it didn't drip as much and then maybe a month later, it would stop cooling. Another can and it was good for awhile. Now a can or two won't last a week. It's time for an evaporator (in the dash) and seperator (always replace when you open the system). Yours will do this too. In time.

maybe its not humid enough to sweat. check pressures with guages , check drainline off evaporator coil they tend to plug up.

I was driving around today, nice and sunny, 16 deg C really the first nice day of the year.. SO I flip on the AC, I wait a little and thats all I get very little cooling. After replacing the evaporator core last year I'm thinking what else could have leaked my freon away? Then I'm thinking about the snow thats on the way 20-30 cm for close to us overnight and just how much are we going to get. Then it dawns on me, the light bulb goes off My winter front is closed. I open it up and lo and behold the AC works again. Oops time to close it up again, well I guess that was spring.
