TST R49 concern/question

Hey everyone,

I just purchased the TST R49 /w/ turbo cool down boost limit etc.

Install went great, instructions were easy to follow, I performed the install on Saturday. After install, truck fired right up with no issues. The truck runs extremely good (level 2 is all, because I'm running Flashpaq and have stock turbo)

(I have been running the flashpaq and have done so for the last week prior to this install.)

Anyway,

Truck has always started really quick with no issues until Sunday morning---crank time was really long but did start and ran perfect. Sunday night get home go to shut the truck off and decided to use the cool down part of the TST, everything worked great til this morning (monday)----I went out, hopped in the truck and cranked and no start, I tried two more times then decided to pop the hood and see if all the connections were good, yep all good-----by this time my wife comes out and starts smiling and says "see all that crap you do to your truck just screws everything up" what could I say? So I cranked it one more time before trying the TST bypass connectors and she fired up, I smiled at my wife through all the smoke and cruised to work, she ran perfect.

I tried calling TST but can't get through to anyone (I did leave a message), am I doing something wrong? or when I used the cool down part am I suppose to do something else when you gat back in the truck to start again?

As always thanks for your help!!

Lance

I would say get a hold of TST but how do you have your cool down working? on time or egt temp? if you have it set on time you need to turn the egt temp off so it does not see the egt cool down. I dont think that will fix it but worth a try

I have had the TST R49 since last October. I have never had any slow start issues. I have had it stacked with EZ and sometimes triple stacked with the BD Triple Dog. I use my cool down timer almost every time I stop. I do have the TST EGT sensor installed so my Cool Down Settings are 3.5 minutes or 300* EGT, which every happens first. Normally it hits 300* in a minute to minute and a half.

I would make sure that all of the fuse taps are on the right leg and seated good.

I would also unload the FlashPaq and see if the problem still existed.

Call to TST would never hurt, but it is hard to talk to real tech lately it seems. Last year Mark called me back within a couple of hours or so more than once. I don't think that will happen much anymore, must just be too busy.
