Brake Pad Fitting?
I am planning on replacing my front brake pads for the first time, and I am noticing something confusing about my truck. I have a 2500, but the GVW is 8800. It seems that the brake pads for the 95 2500 with a 5.9 are all for the 7500 GVW. The only site that has mentioned a 2500 with 8800 GVW was the EBC website, but it is for the 8.0 liter engine. Could someone shed some light on this for me? I am guessing that for brake pads, the motor type is not as relevant as the GVW. I want to make sure that I get the right fit the first time. Any help would be appreciated.

I think the brake pads are all the same, as the rotors are all the same. Check out rockauto.com and they have a pretty good selection that should give you some insight as to the proper size. I think the GVW has more to do with the rear springs than the front end. You have the camper package on yours which gives you an overload spring or an extra spring, or something....

There are a number of issues here , 5.9 - there is a gasser that is a 5.9 , so may be looking up the wrong part .
Go by the sticker on the door post , and do not except any parts from something saying different .
GVW = gross vehicle weight , that's gross , which means both axial's , not just the rear , the sticker on the door will give separate weight capacities for ft. & r. , then gross .
