I had to change brake pads the other night, and naturally the caliper was shot so i swapped that out as well.
when i went to top off the master cylinder, i noticed alot of what appeared to be very dirty fluid in it.
Why would dirt and trash be drawing back out of the lines?
Should i be expecting a blown line sometime in the near future?

When you collapsed the Calipers to get the new pads on, the fluid that was in the lines gets pushed back into the MC.
Not a big thing, but you should probably do a flush and refill......As I set here telling you to do so with 4 vehicles that have never had a flush.

Whenever I replace a major brake componet I "flush" the system. I suck all the fluid out of the master, refill with fresh, crack all the bleeders, refill as needed. I like to go through about 2 pints before closing bleeders. Some shops use vacuum bleeders to flush, but I had a few bad experiences where I got air trapped inthe line and had to gravity bleed anyway.

I always crack the bleeders open before collapsing the calipers.
Makes bleeding easier if all the nasty fluid isn't in the reservoir plus some ABS units can be damaged by forcing the fluid backwards though them.

normally, if i had salvaged the caliper, i would have opened the bleeder and then put the piston back in. since the bleeder broke off, and the sun was going down, i got a new one on warranty, but never noticed the 3 day old coffee looking stuff in the master cylinder before
