You are better off to go to an electrical service company or a tool rental place and rent a proper electrical crimper. I used one made by T&B, but I borrowed it from work. I use not used the hammer type, but have heard that they arent all that good.

I did a WWW search for military batt. terminals. You can buy them all day long for $5-$6 apiece. This site you can get 2 PAIR w/shipping for less than $30.

Dr Evil - I've got pretty good results with my brothers hammer crimper. The key to my success is using a certain type of ring terminal. I have been looking at the professional type hydralic/air or electric crimpers but don't want to spend the money at the moment.

I will be purchasing one someday. I don't like having to always rent something. Someone within my crew usually has a tool that is needed. I like owning tools that I will use constantly.

Thanks for the tip !

Unfortunately, some companies only ship within the US. Pretty stupid since we are in a Global Economy.

Not really something that I would consider an everyday use tool. How many times over the life of the truck will you have to make new battery cables?

Anyway, you might be interested in the crimpers here as they have a pretty good price (although I can comment on the quality of them):

I, as well as friends work with battery cables/terminal ends more than the average person, possibly you included. Based on the various hobbies I'm in, ( my friends included). Diesel pickups aren't the only vehicles I/We own and work on.

Enough said, I'll be purchasing a professional crimper sometime in the near future.
