Question Back seat squeek

Anybody ever had a squeek coming from the back seat? I can't seem to track it down. Seems to depend on the humidity and weather conditions as to wheather it squeeks. It also squeeks more when passangers are sitting on the seat. Any ideas?

Check the stops for the rear doors. Those were squeeking on mine. Same thing, only happened in certain weather. I put baby powder on them and it stopped. Doesn't last long though. I thought about a spray lithium grease, but that could get messy when getting in and out. Any suggesions on what to use?

Mark,
If the squeek is in the back behind the driver (driver's side) it could be the fuel tank. I had this simular problem with my truck. Mine sounded like it was from the back seat, so I got under the truck and had someone stand in the bed and rock up and down to move the suspension.

The fuel tank rubs against the back wall of the cab, or should I say, the back wall of the cab sits on top of the plastic fuel tank. If you can look between the cab and the bed from above you can see the black fuel tank.

You need to get under the truck and reach above the fuel tank to spray the contact point. Every six month to a year I have to respray, or if I go through water that washes off the lube.

I hope that's it.

Mike, thanks for the post. Yes, it sounds like it's coming from the driver's side of the back seat. I will check that out tonight.

Mike. I checked the fuel tank and you are right. It looks to be rubbing...just barely. I sprayed some lithium greese where it contacts and will see if it helps. Thanks. Mark
