Use a buddy to hold the new glass in place on the bed side. You want the window seal installed on the glass itself and run a piece of 1/4" rope inside the seal all the way around with the two ends hanging out at the bottom center or top center of the seal. Spray the entire thing with silicone spray and get the seal started inside the lip on the cab and pull the rope towards you.

This will pull/fold the seal lip over the cab lip quite easily.

Boom, you're rollin again.

The glass is glued in and uses no gasket.

'97's use gaskets, the '99 and up are glued. Don't know about the '98's. I just sold one yesterday that came out of a '97 since I can't use it on my '01.

"almost" have to get a new glass. The moulding will be made to it, as part of the assembly.
Try a glass shop for this job. Yeah, you "could possibly" do it, but, you stand a good chance at messing up the paint around the glass when cleaning it up for the new glass to be glued back in.
Heat knife works best.
Sawing with a wire (piano wire) works if you don't care about the paint.
That has to be one the worst back glasses to remove without hurting the moulding or the paint.

My local glass shop indicated there was no way to do that. Wonder how that happened? Or maybe it just looks like it has a gasket?

i opted to replace my slider with a single glass. a local shop will do the job for about 200. the sliders are broken into here way to much and i never liked it anyway.

Pay a BODY SHOP to do it. It's a tricky job. Not a do it yourselfer kind of thing. The rear on these there are two 90 degree turns to get to the seal, and there's paint to ruin on these surfaces.
