The clip that latches my back glass has broken. I was going to replace the whole center piece but I started looking thru LMC truck and I saw they offer a latch assembly and an adhesive. Has anybody ever tried removing that base and replaced it?

I got a replacement latch at Autozone for the 99 but it busted the day after I put it on.
