It might just be your Fuel Shut off Solenoid is getting weak / stuck .
See if pushing the arm of the shut off lever up all the way with the key on and then crank it.
Usually if you clean up the FSS arm under the boot and grease it a bit you can get them to work again.
In a pinch, just take it off and manually push the lever up the start and down to turn off until you can get a new FSS.
