Anyone Ever Stretch a Quad Cab?

You know, I'd love to keep my '01 QC but wish it had the rear seat of the newer Crew Cabs. I'm going to have to spend $40K+ to get a new truck I guess, but wish I could spend half that and renovate my '01 and make the back seat a real one. Does anyone do this? If I can do this, how long will my truck last before falling apart around the engine?

^ not 100% sure about that.
sheriffa....do a search for conversions and read my posts. I've been thinking about this for about a year and if/when time allows I'd chop it just before the back glass. Do it.

I remember, a long time ago, Id say around 1996 or so they had one in the little town I'm from. It was an extended cab long bed that was converted to a 4 door with the extended cab portion behind the four door. Made a mega look like a compact.

No idea who did the work, but it looked clean and as if it rolled out of the factory that way.

I do remember someone on here had a 4 door 2nd gen 4x4 for sale back when I first joined. Looked pretty good too.

I had a friend that owned a body shop who stretched an older Ferd by putting 2 cabs together & used parts of a third as another section. Father was helping his son build his 1st truck & put all the parts back on the body.

I did a double take the other day, saw a mid 90's 6 door Ford. Hard to tell it was not a factory original, somebody knew what they were doing, but I would not dare let dw park it.
