Thanks for everyone's input on the brakes, this site has been extremely helpful. Last night I was in mid-battle with my track bar ball joint, and searched the site for a minute, got some tips, and got it apart.

Well, the rebuilt ($465) wheel bearing/hub assembly they put on my truck this week went bad on me after 11 miles. They came and hauled it away yesterday, and the parts will be in Monday. So I gotta ride around on the tractor all weekend. Man, there's always something.

I didn't know that either, that's what they told me though. Not sure what there is to rebuild there. I'm worried that it might have cooked axle seals or the U joint or spindle or something else important, but I guess that will be my problem if something goes bad later. They're just replacing the hub/bearing assembly. Ugh, this truck. Love it, hate it.

I came across a website the other day where a guy drilled his sealed bearings for grease zerts. He has put several hundred thousand miles on them since with no problems. I'll try and find the link.

Truck is not your problem. you must be exposing unit to very extreme operating conditions to get as bad as you describe. Then the lack of knowledgable repair procedures is the rear killer in the story as best can figure. Sorry but JMHO
