Took on another job
I worked a cattle farm for a guy for 7 years started when I was 17 years old and quti when I was 24. The man called me this afternoon and asked if I could take care of his cattle this winter. He is an older man and not getting around good in the cold snow.
I started this evening for him, he is running 70 feeder heifer cattle running on 236 acres. I started this eveing by placeing 500# of ground corn on the back of the flat and drove the cattle into the feedlot and poured the corn into the feedtubs. Dana and I then drove around and running the straglers into the feedlot and getting a head count. I got to put roll hay out with a Kubota, its not green and yellow but will have to do. All in all take me about an hour, then I got to come into my place and feed mine.
I will get some good pics of his herd, he is running mostly black and black/white face cattle. Will post this weekend.
[/quote]

Got to make a livein' ;D

Since winter started I have less time at home with snow on the ground. I got mine fed at 8:30 pm last night. 6" of snow and my John Deere gator 4x2 went right thou the snow. I had to drove my horses into the barn lot to feed, or the cows would run them away and eat there feed and Alafafa hay.

Ricki I know what your up against. I do the same here in Milford. By the way. I am sure you noticed my trailer gone. I tried to call from my cell, but the cingular people are a joke. I called when I got home. I had no trouble getting out. Had to get groceries and diesel in town. Met a new diesel head. He gave me compliments on the truck. I told him to stop by the shop and look around.
. Well I am going to do some measuring for a 4 inch turn down from the turbo today. Will thought it might be a good idea. I have no clue. Come by if you get a chance. Hope he is there today.

It's been cold and snowy here in Misspouri and our horses have been eating 5-1800lb bales a week. Those are just the ones outside. I have no idea how many square bales were feeding inside. ???
