Question Amp Gauge Dropped, Check Gauges Light...

So today I'm attempting to jumpstart or church bus (95 powerstroke with air ride) as I have done in the past. The airpump is running to charge the tank, so I run the RPMs on my truck up to about 1500 and then the check gauges light pops on, there is chime sound and the amp gauge is dropping. So I shut the truck off, check the jumper cables, batteries and everything looks ok. Then I hear a couple of clicks from under the hood, I disconnect the jumper cables and fire my truck back up and everything is normal again. The amp gauge is sitting a little bit above 14 as it always does. So i'm assuming the air compressor overload the alternator and it popped the circuit breakers?

What's your guys thoughts???

Tye

I think you are right that it just popped a circut breaker or two under the hood.
